Founded by Sabby and her team in 2025, Nelson's Cat Café aims to incorporate the therapeutic benefits of spending time with cats, with really good coffee and cakes.
After adopting Nelson from a rescue and finding out just how therapeutic cats can be, we decided that everyone needs a Nelson in their lives, and the idea for a café began!
Nelson's Cat Café is a non-profit venture, with all proceeds going to a number of rescuers and cat charities. We can assure you that after the basic necessities are paid (e.g. wages, upkeep of the café, and of course, the care of our resident cats) that every penny will go towards helping cats in need. We aim to be as transparent as possible with the donations we make, and the charities we work with.
How We Work
We are excited to welcome guests 13 years and over, with 13's to 16's being accompanied by an adult. Whilst we appreciate that this is an unusual ask for a cafe, we aim to create a calm, homely, environment for all to relax and enjoy. We politely ask that you do not bring your own pets into the café.
We have a booking system in place to ensure our café is not overcrowded and all proceeds after wages go back into the care of our cats and donations to local animal charities.
Food and drinks are not included in our booking fee and must be paid for in person during your café visit.

Why a Cat Café?
Not everyone is able to have pets, whether that be due to housing restrictions, allergies, or various life circumstances. But this shouldn’t mean that people have to live a pet free life!
We hope to create a home from home feel for you and our residents, and a café like no other. Each cat has been chosen due to the fact that they love human company, cuddles, and attention from all. Not all cats would be suitable in this environment, but Nelson and his gang are up for the adventure!
